Prep Your Surface!

THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP

  • Our Pool Cleaner (purchased separately) is mixed with water and must be sprayed onto the surface with a garden sprayer.

  • Use a hard bristle broom to rub into the surface.

  • It is important to rinse the surface again with water when complete.

  • For smooth surfaces (fiberglass) mix 1L of C/P with 4L of water.

  • For porous surfaces (concrete/gunite) mix 1L of C/P with 2L of water.

  • Allow the surface to dry.

Filling in Cracks

IF NEEDED

Our Joint Filler & Sealant (sold separately) fills and seals cracks or chips before epoxy application. It resists mild acids, alkalis, and occasional contact with aromatic solvents, offering excellent thermal shock resistance. It creates a strong structural bond to repair problem areas.

Surface Preparation

  1. Ensure all joints are clean, dry, and free of oil, dirt, debris, curing compounds, sealers, paint, or coatings.

  2. Joints must have an open surface texture.

  3. Simply removing debris with hand tools is insufficient. Preferred cleaning methods:

    • Dustless concrete saw

    • Wire wheel abrader

    • Sandblasting

  4. Completely remove residue with vacuuming or oil-free compressed air.

  5. For floor cracks, route out and clean cracks before filling. Square off all edges.

  6. Ensure joints are completely dry before applying the Joint Filler & Sealant.

Mixing Instructions

  1. Premix Part A and Part B separately.

  2. Combine equal parts (1:1 ratio) of Part A and Part B.

  3. Mix thoroughly for 2–3 minutes using a slow-speed drill with a mixing blade or Jiffy mixer.

  4. Scrape the sides and bottom of the container for a uniform mix.

  5. Do not thin or aerate.

  6. Pot life is 30–45 minutes—apply within this time.

Application

  1. Apply the product with a bulk caulking gun, pressure extruder, or other low-pressure methods.

  2. Start from the bottom of the joint and fill upward to avoid air pockets.

  3. If needed, retool the filler before it sets.

  4. For traffic loop sealing:

    • Start at the highest point.

    • Fill the joint to 2/3 depth, allowing it to settle around wires.

    • Make a second application to fill the joint completely.

  5. Do not apply below 50 °F (10 °C).

  6. Cure for 24 hours at 75 °F (24 °C) or longer at colder temperatures before traffic use.

How To Apply The Pool Epoxy Kit

1. Mixing

  • Mix 1/2 Part A and 1/2 Part B separately in their tins.

  • Mix 1/2 Part A and 1/2 Part B together in a separate container (bucket) for 5-10 mins.

  • Ratio is 1 to 1 by volume.

  • Mixing can be done with a drill and sheer mixer attached.

2. Coating

  • You have a 3-hour pot life after mixing.

  • 3 hours to paint the product before it becomes unworkable

  • It is recommended that the products be split into quarters to avoid this.

  • A brush (no thicker than 10mm) can be used for hard-to-reach areas.

  • Mohair or Lambskin roller is used for larger surface areas.

  • Thickness is 125-200 microns (0.125-0.2mm) per coat.

  • Once the coat is finished it is recommended to wait 24 hours before the second coat (this is temperature dependent, in warmer temperatures drying time could be as short as 16 hours and in cooler temperatures it could take as long as 72 hours). You can feel in cooler temperatures if the coating is still curing as it will still be soft, this is when you should wait a bit longer to cure fully.

  • If you miss the 72-hour window, just make sure you lightly abrade the first coat before applying the second.

  • Once the first coat is ready, repeat steps 1-2

7 Day return policy, only if the product is sealed and has not been used
